The Deploy & Nurturing Gallery (DNG Tanzania) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a sustainable and equitable future for communities in Tanzania. Our work focuses on empowering communities through programs in youth development, environmental conservation, gender and human rights, and capacity building. We are a small but growing organization, and a significant part of our work is made possible by the dedication of our volunteers.
The Opportunity
We are seeking skilled and passionate volunteers to join our team in an online capacity. We are specifically looking for individuals with experience in grants research and proposal writing to help us secure funding for our vital community projects. This is a unique opportunity to use your skills to make a tangible impact on the ground in Tanzania, all from the convenience of your own home.
Your're Role
As a volunteer grant writer, you will:
- Research and identify new grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other funding bodies.
- Assist in writing compelling grant proposals, applications, and reports.
- Contribute to the development of our fundraising strategy.
- Work collaboratively with the DNG Tanzania team to align proposals with our mission and project needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in grant research and/or writing.
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- A passion for our mission and a genuine desire to contribute to sustainable development in Tanzania.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Access to a computer and reliable internet connection.
Commitment
This is an unpaid, volunteer position. We are flexible regarding hours and are happy to work with your schedule, but we ask that you commit to a minimum number of hours per week to ensure consistent progress.
