Our Story

"This is why DNG Tanzania exists to complement government efforts and other stakeholders to empower and transform the communities."

History and Establishment
Deploy and Nurturing Gallery abbreviated as (DNG Tanzania) was dully established and registered in Tanzania as a local and national NGO under the NGOs Act Cap 56 (R.E 2002 of the Laws of Tanzania) with registration certificate number 00NGO/R/1418, dated October, 16 2020.

The organisation coordination head office is in Arumeru District Arusha region. Founded in 2018 by Mr. Nhojo A Kushoka, it is not for profit, non-partisan but a membership organisation working under the rights-based principles and approaches (transparency, participation, and accountability) that strives to improve the lives of the most vulnerable and marginalised communities (rural and the urban poor) by empowering women, youth, children and person living with disabilities. Through addressing issues concern environment, advancing gender equality, and develop inclusive communities.

Its establishment came up to compliment in the response to the communities most pressing challenges in Tanzania. The organisation emerged from the recognition of the interconnections between gender inequality, environmental degradation, and poverty as whole . The founders, driven by a shared vision of a just and sustainable society, established DNG with the aim of addressing these issues through a holistic and community-centred approach.

Through engage and support the communities, educate the purpose of self-starting, self-initiatives that needed to be carried out to provide solutions to their own problems socially, economically, environmentally.

Achievements to Date
Since its inception, DNG Tanzania has made significant strides in its mission to empower women, adolescent girl’s children, youth and people with disabilities, protect the environment, and build resilient communities. Reached five districts out of seven in Arusha region.

Our Ongoing Development Programs
Capacity Building
This include initiatives and project designed to enhance the skills, knowledge, and abilities of individuals and organisations. DNG Tanzania invests in strengthening the skills and competencies of youth, community leaders, local organisations, and service providers. Through structured training, mentorship, and workshops, this program enhances local ownership, accountability, and sustainability in development initiatives, enabling stakeholders to become agents of change in their own communities. Community Empowerment
We believe that by empowering communities, especially women and girls, and protecting our environment, we can build a more equitable and resilient world. Rooted in the principles of participation and inclusive, this program engages marginalised groups especially women, youth, and people with disabilities in civic education, rights awareness, livelihood development, and social innovation. Early Child Development
The ECD program supports holistic growth and development for children aged 0–8 years, with a focus on nurturing care, early learning, health, and nutrition. DNG Tanzania works with families, educators, and communities to provide safe, stimulating, and inclusive environments for young children. Through caregiver education, early learning centres, and multi-sectoral collaboration, this program lays a strong foundation for lifelong learning and well-being, particularly in under-served and vulnerable communities. Environmental Conservation
Environmental conservation programs are initiatives aimed at preserving and protecting the natural environment for future generations. These programs often focus on addressing issues such as pollution, climate change, deforestation, and biodiversity loss.
The environmental conservation programs can be implemented at various levels, from local communities, whereby involve government policies, corporate initiatives, and individual actions. Read more>>
Gender and Human Rights
Gender and human rights programs are initiatives aimed at promoting equality, justice, and the fulfilment of human rights for all individuals, regardless of their gender identity or expression. These programs often focus on addressing issues such as gender-based violence, discrimination, and inequality. Read more>>
Inclusive Community Development
The inclusive community development it all about the process that aims to create communities where everyone, regardless of their background, colour, physical look, disabilities, health status etc, has the opportunity to participate fully and benefit equally from the community's resources and opportunities. Science, Technology, and Innovation
At DNG Tanzania, we believe that science, technology, and innovation are vital tools for social transformation and sustainable development. This program aims to cultivate scientific curiosity and technological skills among young people through hands-on training, STI clubs, innovation labs, and digital literacy initiatives. By empowering youth to explore, create, and problem-solve, DNG Tanzania is nurturing a generation of change-makers who are equipped to tackle complex community challenges using locally-driven, tech-based solutions. Youth Development
Youth development program are designed to provide young people with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities they need to thrive personally, academically, and professionally.
These programs often focus on building character, promoting healthy lifestyles, and fostering civic engagement. Read more>>
Main Source of Funding
Historically, DNG Tanzania has primarily relied on member’s individual donations as the source of funding, local partnership i.e., Tusonge CDO, also international donors support like Hivos, Digital Defender Partnership (DDP) and Children's Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF), and private donations as its main source of funding. This support has been instrumental in enabling the organisation to carry out its programs and achieve its objectives. However, DNG Tanzania has been diversifying its funding sources to ensure sustainability and growth.

Target Groups
The primary target groups of DNG Tanzania are marginalised communities, including children, youth (both girls and boys), and women. We serve these groups regardless of their differences, such as those with or without disabilities, and irrespective of their localities (rural, semi-urban, or urban areas)
